My mother was a loving and gracious woman. She endured WWII as a young Austrian. She survived the persecution of so many, from her mother, to the unfortunate harm of family members. Her faith remained strong, and is the only reason she was a survivor. She is surrounded by the glory of the Lord, forever to find joy in his presence. Her loving son Duane gave up his career to care for her in their home for over 5 years. His unconditional love and kindness brought sweetness to this culmination of a hard life. She touched so many with her presence, and her kind and encouraging words. I am so blessed to have known her.
We are saddened to hear of your loss. Anna was a friendly neighbor, always waving when we would see her outside. We recently discussed that we hadn’t seen her for quite awhile. She was always nice to our grandson, Jonathan, during the school years when he was a friend of her grandson, Nathan. It is wonderful that she was so well taken care of in her final days and was able to stay in her home.
We are so sorry to hear of Anna’s passing. A couple of years ago, she shared the story of her childhood in Austria at a neighborhood Christmas gathering and there wasn’t a sound in the room except her voice as she spoke. What a treasure she was.
I’ve missed her enthusiastic waves and big smile from the front step in the recent past. It was a pleasure to know her.
What do you say to just a beautiful lady inside and out. Anna was such a wonderful neighbor who loved to greet you as you drove by and always had such wonderful kinds words. She would often take and give our dog, Hunter treats when he made his nightly walk to visit her. Anna, Hunter is there greeting you and excited to be reunited with one of his human friends.
We have enjoyed your stories of your life, watching you shoot buckets, phone calls, joining the neighborhood parties and lightening up a room with your wonderful smile. I am sure that our LORD is celebrating that he gets to finally share in your joy and the passion you had for life.
We will always remember the peace and serenity that Anna brought to our lives.
Thanks Anna for the memories.
Until we meet again my kind friend, hugs to you!!!
Anna was an amazing woman who deeply loved the Lord! What a blessing she was to the neighborhood as she waved at all who drove around her corner. I, too, attended the neighborhood Christmas party when Anna shared her testimony of her favorite childhood Christmas. Such a little girl at the time she was unaware of the demise to come. All were quiet in the room as she spoke. Though we’ve moved now, whenever we speak of our Cambridge neighborhood we think of Anna!
