Mickey Pederson, age 70, of Isanti died July 3, 2013 at home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 6th at Oxlip Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Lee Scheumann officiating. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Mickey Ray Pederson was born November 28, 1942 in Milbank, South Dakota to Lloyd and May (Hanson) Pederson. He was raised and attended school in South Dakota. Mickey then served his country in the US Marine Corp. He then attended the University of Minnesota. On June 6, 1964 Mickey married Sara Jensen at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Mickey taught at St. Francis schools for 31 years and they lived in Isanti since 1978. He loved his adventures on the Rum River, fishing and playing with his grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sara; children, Jonathan (Diana), Christopher, and Melody (Christos Polyzois); informally adopted son, Michael McCormick (Andrea); grandchildren, Ethan and Carissa Pederson, and Alkis Polyzois; brother, William (Meg), sister, Betty (John); and other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert, and one sister and one brother.
