They moved to Henderson, Minnesota to work on the Nye Farm where their son, Hugo, Jr. was born. Later Hugo worked in construction and he then served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. After the war they moved back to Isanti and purchased Hugo’s family farmstead. Eva worked as a telephone operator and later in the business office for Northwestern Bell until her retirement. In her younger years she was very active in Elim Baptist Church in Isanti and served in many capacities. Hugo and Eva wintered in Texas for twenty-five years. In Texas she took painting classes and usually painted landscapes. Eva also enjoyed making dolls, crocheting, quilting and doing puzzles.

We enjoyed visiting with your parents in Texas plus the many times around Isanti. May God grant you peace and give you fond memories.
Wonderful Eva. I have many memories of Eva. It was a thrill to say I knew her. How thrilled she must be to be seating at the feet of Jesus
After reading Eva’s obit and seeing her picture I only wish I had the opportunity to have met her and known her. She seemed like such a great lady. The Ney Nature Center Board of Directors sends our deepest sympathy for your loss. May you be comforted in all of the wonderful memories you must share. Hold them close to your heart and treasure them forever.
Sincerely,
Carol Jackson
Ney Nature Center Board secretary
(By the way I work with Tony Peterson. I understand he is a relative.)
