Dawn Marie Schuster, age 50, of Arden Hills died October 2, 2013 at home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, OCTOBER 12th at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 7101 143rd Ave NW, Ramsey, with Father Paul Jaroszeski as Celebrant. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at church.
Dawn Marie Schuster was born March 11, 1963, at Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Her twin sister, Marcella, was born shortly after. They were 11 weeks premature. Dawn weighed in at a mere 1lb. 7 oz. no longer than a pencil and Marcella weighed 1lb. 9 ½ oz. Marcella only lived for 20 hours. Dawn fought hard and was not allowed to leave the hospital until she weighed 5lbs. So 109 days later she was released. Dawn was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was approximately 2-3 years old. Dawn was never able to speak, her spirited mind helped her to fight for what she wanted and receive her fair share. As she got older she was in Foster homes and for many years worked at the Anoka County Achieve making money to support her favorite hobby of shopping! Some of the tasks included sorting various items and shredding paper. Dawn had many hobbies throughout her years. She was a die hard fisherman, a major card shark, and a wiz at the computer slot games. Dawns favorite color was Purple being that she was a Viking fan this was a match made in heaven. Dawn met many wonderful people through her years and all who came in contact with her fell in love with her big smile and great sense of humor. Over the years the cerebral palsy started to break down her body but her spirited mind stayed strong till the end. Dawn passed away in her sleep with a smile in her mind knowing she was surrounded all her life with very special people that loved her and cared for her. She was blessed her entire life by people that really enjoyed being part of hers. She will be missed dearly by her family and numerous friends. Her ashes will be buried in New Ulm back with her twin sister. Together once again.
