Sarah “Sadie” Tainter, age 73, of Cambridge died November 14, 2013 at home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 21st at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Pastor Randy Westerberg officiating. A time for visiting will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the service. Burial will be in Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.
Sarah Ryan Tainter was born May 27, 1940 in Greenock, Scotland to John and Sarah (Marshall) Ryan. She grew up and attended school in Scotland. Sadie met Allen Tainter, who was in Scotland serving in the US Navy, on a blind date. They were married on December 21, 1963 in Scotland. In 1964 they settled in Anoka, Minnesota and later lived in Bethel and then in Isanti County since 1980. Sadie worked at Herman’s Bakery for the past several years. She enjoyed agate hunting, fishing, bowling and especially going to the casino. Sadie also liked collecting Thomas Kincaid items.
She is survived by one daughter, Pat Dahlberg of Cambridge; one son, John (Barb) Tainter of University Place, Washington; three grandchildren, David, Sarah and Adam; one great-grandson, Wyett; one sister-in-law, Mary Ryan; and by other relatives and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; and five siblings Agness Caldwell, Netty Hyde, Lillian McCready, John Ryan and Andrew Ryan.
