Harold R. Tompkins, age 84, of Braham and formerly of Cambridge, died December 29, 2013 at Haven House in Cambridge. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 2nd at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti with Fr. Jose as Celebrant. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Harold Roy Tompkins was born in Princeton. He was raised and attended school in Princeton where he graduated from high school. He then attended Dunwoody and then moved to Florida. He married Mary Logerot on July 16, 1949. They made their home in Miami until 1958 when they moved to Spencer Brook Township, Isanti County, Minnesota on Harold’s home place. They later moved to Goldenwood. Harold lived in Braham for three years, just recently moving to Haven House. Harold worked for Northern States Power until his retirement. In earlier years he was very active in United Way and also enjoyed snowmobiling and was a pioneer in developing snowmobile trails. Harold was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti.
Harold died December 29, 2013 at Haven House in Cambridge at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 11 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2012; son, John; brother, Francis who died in France during WWII; sister, Leone Johnson; half brother, Ray Zerott.
Harold is survived by 2 sons, Thomas Tompkins and Robert Tompkins; daughter-in-law, Barbara Tompkins; 5 grandchildren, David (Gina) Tompkins, Jennifer (Jason) Yates, Andy (Penny) Tompkins, Angela Tompkins and Nicole Tompkins; 5 great-grandchildren, Jordanna, Julia, Joshua, Jared and Kaitlyn; brother, Warren “Sonny” (Bernie) Tompkins; sister, Jeanette Rudsdil; half sister, Laura Halden.

Sorry to read in paper about Harold’s passing. Had lots of fun times with your dad and mother over the years. Snowmobling all over even in Yellowstone. Many lively games of cribbage too.
Sorry, I won’t be able to be at the funeral. By the time I saw it in the paper it was to late to get off from work.

I really enjoy working with Harold at Walmart.he always had a smile on his face and always made me laugh. He trained me when I stared at Walmart. I will miss him very much.. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
