Karen M. Kuhn, age 72, of Harris and formerly of Wyoming, MN, died December 25, 2013 at the FirstLight Hospital in Mora. A memorial visitation to honor and celebrate Karen’s life will be held from 4 – 7 pm Monday, December 30th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.
Karen M. Kuhn, age 72, left us Christmas day after enjoying a day with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arvin, her parents, Edward and Frances, sister’s Diane and Lorraine, brother, Elmer, and her dearest friend Chloe.
Surviving family are her 4 children, Kyle (Amy), Karie (Paul), Keith, Karmen (Dann), 9 grandchildren, Carissa, Mike, Chase, Caytlyn, Nathan, Cara, Ellie, Olivia, and Matthew, sisters Lucille and Norma, and 4 grand puppies-Greta, Solomon, Oliver, and Lola.
Karen enjoyed many things. In her earlier years, she expressed her creativity through such things as ceramics, painting many keepsakes for her family. She was an amazing baker – weekend morning caramel rolls were a favorite, but her Christmas caramels were enjoyed by all. She kept her mind active through her avid reading- but still indulged in the occasional detective TV shows such as NCIS or CSI. She loved beautiful things from her summer gardens, to her crystal collections, to collecting chickens- (yes, chickens) but most of all she loved her children. Whether it was a quick conversation on how our days were going, or hearing about the boys hunting adventures, Mom was always ready for a chuckle, to pick us up, and to make us feel safe, loved.
Mom has given us so many wonderful memories, instilled a strong sense of faith and family. She will be remembered for so many things by so many.
