Roger Lawrence Peterson, age 73, of Dalbo died May 1, 2014 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 9th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Princeton with Pastor Marty Hancer officiating. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service.
Roger Lawrence Peterson was born in Princeton, MN on June 23, 1940 to Lawrence and Agnes (Thronson) Peterson. He grew up on a farm south of town in Baldwin Township. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1958. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1959. After training he was stationed at several different Radar Defense bases, working in plumbing and HVAC until he retired.
In 1960 he married Sandra Sjoquist who went with him wherever he was stationed. They had two sons that were born while he was in the service. After being discharged he went to work for Firestone Co. in Hopewell, Virginia. They moved back to Minnesota in 1965 and lived in Princeton. He worked for Federal Cartridge and Hoffman Engineering in Anoka, MN for 33 years. Roger was very fortunate to always love his work and his co-workers. He retired in 1998 and in 2004 they moved to their retirement home in the country which he always enjoyed. Roger always enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and fishing. He loved life, loved his family and friends – young and old, fellow workers, classmates, neighbors, relatives and just about anyone he ever met… and his dog.
Roger Peterson passed away May 1, 2014 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis after a one week illness at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 8 days. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, John; and his brothers David and Dennis Peterson.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Dalbo; son Mark (May) of Princeton; sister, Jayne (Dennis) Kiel of Foreston; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.

Dearest Richard, Thank you so much for all the years of laughs, ewwws, and, inttreseing perspectives. The Blisshaven crew will be sorely missed and the comics page will not be the same. The shopper-eating bush, the uh-oh baby with it’s terrifying prophesy of doom, and Alice… oh my gosh will I miss Alice! Sending lots of love, gratitude, and well-wishes. Ever your fan, Jack Thompson (no relation!)
