Lyle James Johnson, age 87, of Minneapolis died November 15, 2014 at Crystal Care Center. Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, November 22nd at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service Saturday. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery.
Lyle James Johnson was born on April 14, 1927 on the family farm in Cambridge, Minnesota to Marvin and Karin (Leaf) Johnson. He was raised and lived on the family farm throughout his youth. On October 10, 1953 he married the love of his life, Ramona Kathleen Kluck, at Cambridge Baptist Church. They lived in Cambridge for a few years and started their family with their daughter, Mona and son, Lyle Jr. A few years later, they relocated to Minneapolis and had their third son, Jeffrey.
Lyle was a longtime employee of the Minneapolis Public Schools and often worked two jobs to provide the best for his family. He was a kind-hearted, compassionate and good-natured man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was always willing to help others in need. Lyle was a true family man and enjoyed spending time with everyone he loved. He will be remembered fondly sitting by the lake visiting with family.
Lyle died November 15, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. His health is now fully restored in Heaven as he spends time with his Lord and Savior, along with family and friends who have preceded him in death.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ramona; daughter, Mona (Greg) Benecke, sons, Lyle Jr. and Jeffrey; sister, Ione Anderson; seven granddaughters Nikole, Kerri, Sarah, Kristen, Rebekah, Rachel and Deborah; sixteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Grandpa- you were such a sweet man.. You always had something to say to make me laugh or smile. I will miss you… And. We will meet again someday. I am sure your loving it up in heaven.. It must just perfect there! I will always hold a special place for you in my heart.

I now picture you in your glorified body,walking streets of gold and playing ball with our little Ethan Hochstetler. I will always remember you as a man with a gentle and kind spirit, always willing to help. Your sense of humor was enjoyed and you were a great father-in-law.
