Words cannot express how very blessed I feel to have been a part of Steve’s life. He brought incredible joy and happiness to all who knew him. Steve was, simply, a shining light in a dark sky. His smile would light up a room. His eyes could warm the coldest of days. His laugh was contagious. He and Dolly raised two wonderful and beautiful children and indeed, Steve was immensely proud of them. The love he has for both Cassandra and Cody is immeasurable. It was a sad day when Steve saw Cassandra off to college. He missed not only his daughter, but his friend. Meanwhile, as fall turned into winter Steve was excited about sharing the upcoming snowmobile season with his son Cody. Our schedule was completely filled with everything ‘winter like.’ Trail riding, vintage snowmobile races, and ice fishing … he loved sharing it all. Again, words cannot express how blessed I feel to have been part of his life. I love you Steve.

My most cherished memories of Steve was when my girls were young and we would go sliding on the river hill. My girls couldn’t wait to go see him and Wendy,Jody, Cindy. Those days will always be treasured. Being a Uncle also didn’t make any difference in how he treated you, cause he treated everyone the same. Going to miss that the most! Till we meet again, cousin!

Steve in the 38 years I had the privilege to know you and be around you I just have to many memories to share. I think the one we all loved the best was my babysitting skills. Heck I was never the Auntie that would do fun things with you,( like sliding or that kind of stuff) I was the Auntie that would pick all you kids up, including ours girls, and head for J and J’s Pub for pop and chips….. I don’t think you could of asked for a better babysitter. Oh well, through the years we sure had some giggles over it. Love you to the moon and back and we will reminisce again bud….Don’t worry about you wonderful children they have a great support team and will always be loved and watch over.

They say each of our lives tell a story and from what I can tell Steve told an awesome story with his life. It is obvious that he was loved deeply by so many, and he knew how to love in return. He was a big part of so many people’s worlds. What an amazing man! Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you – especially Cassandra and Cody who had a very special loving relationship with their Dad,, Mary Beth who loved Steve with her whole heart and he loved her back, and Steve’s Dad, Gary, and Steve’s siblings, Cindy, Wendy, Jodi, Steve (and my) Niece’s Cara and Cati, and the entire Packer Family who know what it means to have a family that surrounds each other with love, support and strength.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you all. I remember Steve fondly as the kid who grew up next door. Never was there a nicer neighbor who tolerated me as the annoying, tag-along little sister. He and Rich did everything together and Steve was like another big brother to me. I had not seen Steve in years when I saw him at my Dad’s benefit in 2010. He was just as I remembered him….just with a little less hair. :)
You will be greatly missed, Steve. Always…
