Phyllis J. Stewart, age 74, of Cambridge died unexpectedly January 10th at home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 15th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel with Pastor Howard Skulstad officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until the service Thursday night at our Cambridge Chapel. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens in Burnsville.
Phyllis Jean Stewart was born April 7, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Karl and Mae (Nelson) Thompson. She was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Phyllis worked at White Castle and met David, a co-worker, there. They soon dated and were married November 29, 1958. They made their home in Minneapolis and raised four children, Dale, Penny, Deborah and Peggy. In 1971 they moved to the Green Lake area and then to Cambridge. Phyllis was a long time employee at Land O Lakes in Dalbo and later retired from the State of Minnesota as a Human Service Technician.
Phyllis enjoyed her flowers, watching birds, horses and her pets. She especially loved being with family and watching her grandchildren. Phyllis also enjoyed socializing in many ways, even playing a game of poker now and then. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her four children, Dale, Penny, Deborah and Peggy; six grandchildren, Patrick, Elizabeth, Kayla, Danielle, Ashley and Nicole; four great-grandchildren, Eelan, Byron, Brayden and Ava; and her former husband, David; and by many other close relatives and friends.
