William David Schneider, age 77, of Cambridge died February 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 26th at Open Arms Church of God in Grasston with Pastor Gene Sherrod and Pastor Mike Flynn officiating. A visiting time will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
William “Bill” David Schneider was born January 25, 1938 in Red Wing, MN to Harry and Evelyn (Purdy) Schneider. He was raised and attended school in Red Wing. After graduation Bill went on to study Engineering at the University of Wisconsin – Stout. Bill has worked at several contracted engineering positions including ones at 3M and DeBourgh Manufacturing. William Schneider married Janet (Johnson) Schneider on November 22, 1962 of which 2 children were born, Wendy and David. On June 29, 1991 Bill met his bride Beverly (Zunker) Schneider, they married in Cambridge, MN, and it was here that Bill continued his passion to create. At their home he took up working with wood, he could often be found down in their basement working on the next project or out in the yard enjoying the wonders of nature. Bill also had a passion for music which he shared willingly, starting out as a drummer in a small band as a young lad to sharing his talent of playing the piano and organ in various nursing homes and at church. Most recently he was inspired to write his own song, the lyrics are enclosed in today’s bulletin.
Bill had a very tender heart and a love for his Lord Jesus. He was always eager to share with anyone that would listen. On February 20, 2015 William passed away at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids at the age of 77 years and 26 days. Bill passed away from complications of Pleural Mesothelioma. Besides his parents Bill was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Howard Wurst.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly, daughter, Wendy Reinhard (Peter Carlson), son, David Schneider (Laura); 3 step-children, Eric (Casie) Behm, Bobbi (Jason Beaulieu) Sundvall, and Angie (Tony) Carle; three sisters, Janet (William) Mickelson, Joanne Wurst, and Gail (Wayne) Bowman; grandchildren, Chloe, Kiera, Piper, Wyatt, Joey, Becca, Sami, Jake, Ashley and Kelsey; great-grandchild, Kylie; his beloved dog, Molly; and by many other relatives and friends.

I knew Bill from High School, graduating with him in 1956. Most of all I remember his love of music and the times he played the drums. The Class of 1956 sends their condolences and hope that God will guide you all through this troubling time.
