Lucille Hesse, age 96, of Cambridge, died April 9, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber with Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Lucille Esther Hesse was born October 13, 1918, in Minneapolis Minnesota. She attended Minneapolis public schools, and graduated from Edison High School in June 1936. After high school she worked for several years in the graphics department of a Twin Cities greeting card company.
On April 8, 1939, she and Wilhelm Hesse were married. They lived in northeast Minneapolis until 1954, when they took over the rural Isanti County farm of Wilhelm’s parents. Lucille lived on that farm for more than 54 years. In addition to farm work, social clubs and activities, taking trips to see various parts of the United Sates and gatherings with her family, Lucille was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she particularly enjoyed Ladies Aid.
Lucille passed away on April 9, 2015 at the GracePointe Crossing nursing home in Cambridge, Minnesota, at the age of 96 years. She was preceded in death by her youngest son Paul (1960), by her husband Wilhelm (1981) and by grandson Daniel (2014).
She will be missed by her children, Richard (Meredith) Hesse of Kerrville, Texas, Irene Hesse of Minneapolis and Robert (Gina) Hesse of rural Isanti; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
great- great – grandchildren and by numerous friends and relatives.
