Such a silly memory, but we remember your arrival at our house around the corner with your pickles. You’d show up with pickles from your garden. You’d have them in buckets or other plastic containers freshly picked. You sat at our picnic table outside and we’d chat and chat . You’d fill us in on the importance of how quickly to get them canned and we shared our recipes. We offered to come pick ourselves concerned about you but you would not have it. We enjoyed those visits, your teasing sense of humor, your pickles were the best grown. Thank you God for Merton and sharing him with us. He was a wonderful neighbor.
