Adrian Strom, age 87, of Cambridge died June 16, 2015 at Golden Living Center – Lake Ridge in Roseville. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M Saturday, June 20th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service.
Adrian Norton Strom was born on March 6, 1928 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota to Oscar and Mable Strom. He grew up on his family farm near Pomme de Terre Lake in Ashby, Minnesota with his five siblings. He remained there until he was 17 years old when he joined the Navy in the midst of WWII. Once he was out of the military, he started working for the Soo Line Railroad where he lived in a box car while working across the Midwest. During this time working on the railroad he met Yvonne Uhlig in Abbotsford, Wisconsin. They married on June 27, 1953 and then moved to Minneapolis, MN. Adrian was a welder by trade, owning his own welding shop and working a variety of other welding jobs as he raised his family right here in Minnesota – spending the majority of his life in the Isanti/Cambridge area. Adrian had four beautiful children – Kim, Wendy, Camie, and Shana – who were the center of his world, along with his twelve grandchildren – Levi, Justin, Elias, Ashley, Alex, Austin, Amy, Asia, Jourdain, Amber, Jazmin, and Jaidyn, and his ten great-grandchildren – Brandies, Nathan, Natalie, Aubrey, Sapphira, Olivia, Brooklyn, Wesley, Adrian, and Graham. He loved his daughter-in-law Sally and son-in-law Steve as if they were his own children. He loved his extended family as well – his five siblings along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Adrian and Yvonne were married an astounding 62 years!
Adrian passed away on June 16, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and complications from a broken hip. During his time on hospice he was constantly surrounded by his family until the end. Adrian was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Mabel Strom, siblings Maurice Strom, Irene Ward, Ortence Behl, Lowell Strom, and James Strom, and great-grandson Adrian Douglas Loiland.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Strom, son Kim Strom (wife Sally), daughter Wendy Nord (husband Steve), daughter Camie Loiland, and daughter Shana Munson plus twelve grandkids and seven great-grandchildren.

My family and I would like to offer our deepest sympathies to you and your family. We are so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are never alone. Turn to the Holy Scriptures for guidance and to help soothe your heart. Psalms 34:18 assures us that God is near to those broken at heart and crushed in spirit. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Adrian, Yvonne and family were our neighbors the majority of the time that they lived in Isanti, I grew up with their daughter Camie, I cannot not express my feelings to the family for their loss, Adrian was a great man that took good care of his family but always had a watchful eye on his neighbors, he was always quick to help out if it snowed or till up the garden with his tractors. We have nothing but the most respect for Adrian and the good man that he was to help out a single mom and her 6 children next door!! Thank you Adrian, and rest in peace!! .

Deepest sympathy to all.. I used to work at the nursing home in Cambridge with your dad we always enjoyed him so! Even years after we had both moved on from working there, we still visited when we’d run into each other..such a fun and friendly man. What a blessing !
