Patricia Lee (Nordine) Dutton, age 69, of Andover, Minnesota, took her last breath peacefully on July 15, 2015 with her husband by her side in their home.
Pat was born June 19, 1946 in St. Paul, MN to Wilmer and Evelyn (Hedlund) Nordine. She graduated from Alexander Ramsey HS and then attended college at Bethel. She transferred to the University of Minnesota to finish her elementary education degree. She later went on to get her Master’s from the University of St. Thomas.
Pat married David A. Dutton in July 1967 and they had 4 children. She was employed by Mounds View School District and taught at Island Lake Elementary for 16 years and then transitioned to Staff Development Coordinator and Gifted/Talented Education Coordinator. She retired in 1999. She was so passionate about teaching and mentoring that she continued on as a Student-Teacher Supervisor for both Bethel University and the University of St. Thomas for 12 years. She was then recruited to be a “grandma nanny” in Colorado and was subsequently diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, which she fought valiantly for over 5 years.
She was a member of Oak Haven Church where she served in multiple roles, especially teaching Sunday school and in organizing and leading mission trips to Mexico. She also led numerous mission teams to Smela, Ukraine with South Isanti Baptist Church. These Ukraine experiences and people captivated her heart. She was an amazing God-fearing woman and has impacted and encouraged so many people professionally and personally. She has loved well Jesus, her husband, her children and her grandchildren. She has friends and admirers from all over the world (and especially Ukraine) because she has embraced them and mentored them; she has been gracious in loving and teaching them. She leaves a legacy of integrity, faith, commitment and humble servitude. Her personal relationship with Jesus sustained her. We are so thankful for what God has done through Pat to make an impact on other’s lives.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer and Evelyn Nordine. She is survived by loving husband of 48 years, David Dutton; sisters Cindy (Craig) Waterman and Nancy (Lou) Severino; children Todd (Carolyn) Dutton, Tara (Brian) Frerks, Tricia (Marcelo) Morato, Timothy Castillo; 7 grandchildren Annika, Nikolas, Isaiah, Malachi, Andrew, Claire, and Isabelle and many beloved relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Oak Haven Church or South Isanti Baptist Church mission funds.

Pat was the coordinator of our mentoring program when we retired the first time, from the Mounds View district. I remember her as devoted to her mission work in summers and her improvement of teaching in the winters. What a magnificent career she had!
My sympathy to the family on the loss of your wife/mother/mother-in-law/grandma.
