William Lockwood, age 76, of East Bethel died July 8, 2015 at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Monday, July 13th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oak Grove. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at church.
William Harold Lockwood was born July 11, 1938 in Gould City, Michigan to Henry and Minnie (Rushford) Lockwood. When he was seven years old the family moved to Minnesota. He graduated from Rockford, Minnesota High School. William married Shirley Myskevitz on May 1, 1965 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. They made their home in Chaska, later in Maple Plain and then in 1976 they moved to East Bethel. William was a carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local Union 322. He retired from D.J. Kranz Construction in Minneapolis. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oak Grove and a member of New Voice Club of Hennepin County. William was also very active in a leadership role with the Boy Scouts. Besides all of the family activities, he enjoyed camping, bird watching and polka and blue grass festivals.
William died at his home on July 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard and sister, Sandra. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; 2 children, Richard (Kimberly) Lockwood, Victoria Lockwood; 3 grandchildren, Brady, Elizabeth and Henry; 2 brothers, Melvin (Mary) Lockwood, Don (Jan) Lockwood; 3 sisters, Mildred (Arlen) Peterson, Diane (Dennis) Jussila, Susan (Alvin) Jensen; sister-in-law, Judy Lockwood; and many other relatives and friends.

We heard that Bill was wonderful with children, and we so appreciate it for our grandchildren, Audrey and Tristan, whose lives have been made so much richer by knowing him. We are so sorry for his family’s loss. We know that he will be missed by all of those who loved him.
