Goldie Grover, age 91, of Isanti died October 11, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 16 at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel with Pastor Matt Flom officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the chapel.
Goldie Viola Grover was born March 20, 1924 in Feeley, Minnesota to Arnold and Lola (Martin) Stark. She grew up in the Warba area and at a young age moved to California where she worked as “Rosie the Riveter” during WWII. She later moved back to Minnesota and attended Beauty School. Goldie married Henry Steenerson and raised their family of three children in the Anoka area. Henry passed away in 1966. In 1969 she married Howard Grover and made their home in the Anoka, Princeton, and Isanti (last 25 years) areas. Goldie loved birds, flowers, fishing, camping, watching the deer and squirrels, and enjoyed shopping. Goldie never missed sending a card for birthdays, anniversary or holidays. She loved her family and was a very special lady to everyone she met. She was also known as “Granny” to everyone and will be dearly missed by all.
Goldie passed away October 11, 2015 at home at the age of 91 years 6 months and 21 days. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by two husbands, Henry and Howard; one brother, Robert Stark; four sisters, Anna Audette, Dolores Egerdahl, Dorothy Anderson, Mabel Graham, a son Larry Steenerson, daughter-in-law Lois Steenerson and one granddaughter Michelle Steenerson-St. Ledger.
Goldie is survived by one son, Bob (Susan) Steenerson; one daughter, Deborah (Calvin) Calander; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
