Lyle Jeffries, age 90, of Cambridge died November 5, 2015 at NC Little Memorial Hospice in Edina. There will be a memorial gathering on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 11 AM – Noon with a luncheon to follow for family and friends at our Cambridge Chapel. Family has requested memorials for NC Little Memorial Hospice in Edina.
Lyle Leroy Jeffries was born April 25, 1925 in Springvale Township to Leroy and Jessie (McCarty) Jeffries. He was raised in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School. Lyle served in the Army and then attended Dunwoody Institute to become an automobile mechanic. On September 27, 1952 he married Carol Ostrom in Iowa. They made their home in the Minneapolis area. In 1959 they moved to Cambridge where he has since lived. Lyle worked for Stephens Buick in the Twin Cities for several years. He was then a rural mail carrier for the Cambridge Post Office until his retirement. He enjoyed watching sports and rebuilding and fixing cars.
Lyle passed away on November 5, 2015 at NC Little Memorial Hospice in Edina. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol and his brother Elmer. He is survived by 2 daughters, Patti Conrad of Ramsey, Judy (Ralph) Nelson of Mansfield, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Sara, Amy, David, Brooke, Christian and Aaron; 11 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
