Janet “Jan” Ann Piotrowski (Kemnitz), age 80, of Linwood, went to the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 16th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Isanti. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service at the church.
Jan was born at home on December 21, 1935 to William and LaVonne Kemnitz in Le Center, MN. She married Walter Piotrowski on December 29, 1962 at the St. Paul Cathedral. Together they had six children.
Jan enjoyed spending time with her family, baking numerous pies for the holidays, collecting antiques, and researching family genealogy. She loved animals, especially dogs and birds. Jan always had a project for her husband Wally to complete. Jan and Wally loved to go dancing, especially polka. They won the most years of being married at Jessica and Brian’s wedding and celebrated with a slow waltz for all of us to enjoy.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lavonne Kemnitz, sister Ilene Siehndel, brothers William Kemnitz, Jerry Kemnitz (her twin), Ron “Joe” Kemnitz, and Kenneth Kemnitz. She is survived by her brother Robert (Joanne) Kemnitz and many nieces and nephews
Jan will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Walter, children Julia (Ron), Wally (Theresa), Mary Jo (John), Susan (Mike), John (Adele), and Joseph (Tara), 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
