Eleanor A. Lindberg, age 83, of Cambridge and formerly of Isanti and Bethel, died July 24, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 28th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Princeton. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church and also from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 27th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. Interment will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery in Princeton.
Eleanor Ann Lindberg was born December 3, 1932 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Vernon and Jessie (Hanson) Larsen. She was raised and attended school in St. Francis, Minnesota. On September 23, 1950 Ellie was married to Richard Lindberg in Coon Rapids. They made their home in the St. Francis-Anoka area until they moved to Bethel in 1961. After Richard died in February of 2000 Ellie moved to Isanti. She has lived in Cambridge for the last few years.
Ellie enjoyed the outdoors, trees, gardening and she loved flowers. She enjoyed her trips out west to visit her sister. Family was always most important to her and she would support her children and grandchildren in every way possible. She greatly enjoyed watching her family play softball and other activities. She also liked playing Yahtzee and other games and she was excellent at Name That Tune.
Eleanor passed away July 24, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 21 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and three children, Joseph Lindberg, Cindy Lindberg and Beth Reichel.
Ellie is survived by eight children, Dick (Cindy) Lindberg, John (Debbie) Lindberg, Warren (Deborah) Lindberg, Christy (Lance) Oelrich, Bruce (Denise) Lindberg, Sherry (Scott) Guenther, Greta (Les) Freeman, and Jerry Lindberg; one sister, Greta (Clint) Miller; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and by many other relatives and friends.
