Lois M. Oakgrove, age 80, of Elk River died August 31, 2016 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, SEPTEMBER 10th at Strike Funeral Home – Cambridge Chapel. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the service starts at 1:00 P.M. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested.
Lois Marie Oakgrove was born May 30, 1936 in Burnhamville, Minnesota to Farris and Bertha (Stephen) Ward. She grew up mostly in Swanville and graduated from South High School in Minneapolis. Lois lived a full life and her family and friends meant the world to her. She loved playing cards and bingo with her friends, enjoyed reading the Bible, and she always made time for watching The Price is Right.
Lois passed away August 31, 2016 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 1 day. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Virgil Carlson and Johnson Oakgrove; two sons, Milton Carlson and Michael Smith; and one sister, Ruthie Straka.
Lois will be lovingly remembered by her eight children, Darrell Carlson, LoAnn (Jack) Herold, Wanda (Darwin) Olson, Leon (Martice) Carlson, Virginia (David) Erlandson, John Oakgrove, Jeff (Alexis) Oakgrove, and Gary (Debbie) Smith; four sisters, Vera (Jack) Johnson, Ruby (Larry) Bigelbach, Shirley Hahnke, and Janet Sutherland; by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
