Bert (Wayne) Williams 76 years old of Isanti, Minnesota passed away peacefully after a long battle from health complications due to COPD and Lung Cancer on August 19, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East in Cambridge. He had been surrounded for days with love from his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 25th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Fr. Don Wagner as Celebrant. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the church. The gifts will be presented by his granddaughters and his pallbearers will be his grandsons. There will be a luncheon at the Church following.
Wayne will be cremated and his family will be accompanying his ashes to his childhood home town of Wade, Mississippi where there will be a visitation at Wade Baptist Church at 10am and an 11am Service with extended family and friends on September 1, 2016. His burial will be held at Johnsons Cemetery following the Church service and a luncheon will be provided at the church following the burial.
Wayne was born in Wade Mississippi on January 19, 1940 to Marion Williams and Thelma Waltmon (Williams) Merchant.
Wayne married Maureen Egan on January 30, 1965 and they had 6 children together.
Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and father, step father, father and mother in law, 6 brother in laws, 1 sister in law, 4 nephews, 2 great nephews and 3 great grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by wife Maureen, son Matthew (fiancé Deb Ridout) son Theodore, son Jack, son Edward, daughter Angela (Tony) Folstrom, son Jason (Katie) 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister Janet McGlothlin, sister Louise (Mack) Hamilton, 6 sisters in law, 2 brothers in law and many nieces, nephews and extended relatives and friends.
Wayne will be remembered for his love of family, fishing, hunting, storytelling, the gift of gab, treasure hunting at Flea Markets, Auctions, Thrift Stores and Antique Shops, gardening, cooking and baking plus wine making. He will truly be missed at all family parties-gathering and for his awesome fish fry’s.
