Lorraine Plantenberg, age 68 of Isanti, passed away on September 15, 2016 after a long battle with cancer and MS at Benedictine Health Center – Innsbruck in New Brighton. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, September 20th at our Isanti location with a gathering 1 hour before the service. There will also be a memorial visitation on Monday, September 19th from 4 – 8 P.M.
Lorraine Eleanor Plantenberg grew up on a dairy farm near Meire Grove, Minnesota, graduated Sauk Centre High School, St. Cloud State University, and the University of St. Thomas. She began her career as a teacher at Underwood Elementary, and finished her career with 27 years in the St. Francis School District 15. She spent her retirement with family and friends, traveling, and enjoying nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary Yarke, her brother Jerome Yarke, and her nephews Kevin and Ron Blenker. Survived by her husband Joseph Plantenberg of 45 years, her daughters Jennifer and Jacqueline Plantenberg, her brothers and sisters Eugene, Roger, Richard Yarke, Mary Ann (Allen) Blenker, Irene (Jim) Nathe, Joe (Sally) Yarke, Albert Jr. (Joyce) Yarke, JoAnn (Rick) Scharenbroich, Jane (Jim) Kraker, Marlene (Steve) Gunderson, and many other relatives and good friends.
