Arthur Maitland Johnson, age 84, of Isanti passed away peacefully November 13, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East in Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 18th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in East Bradford Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Isanti VFW Post 2735.
Arthur Maitland Johnson was born May 14, 1932 in Glenwood, Minnesota. At age 17 Art joined the US Navy and served his country from 1949 – 1953 protecting the Panama Canal. On February 20, 1965 Art married June Fandrey and they made their home in Minneapolis. They have made their home in Isanti since 1971. Art worked in metal manufacturing most of his working days. He enjoyed watching birds, collecting clocks and cigarette lighters, and sitting outside reading, especially James Patterson books.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna (Truan); son, Tracy; God-daughter, Barbara Edeburn; grandson, Daniel Thomas; and eight of his siblings.
Art is survived by his devoted wife, June; two daughters, Lona Garrison (Jeff Crawford) of Belmond, Iowa; and Dee Johnson (Brian Miller) of Milltown, Wisconsin; sister, Dolores “Dode” Krueger of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Johnson, Allan Bates, Matthew Johnson (Katelin Ginapp), Kasha Garrison (Steven Fisher), Bret Johnson, Corey Johnson, Ryker Johnson, Rusty Ruzynski, Richard (Amy) Bates, and Amanda (Jeremy) Lesmann, Vera (Nathan) Bostic and Michael Edeburn Jr; great-grandchildren, Madison, Makayla, Randy, Abigail, Caitlin, Tristan, Leon, Devon, Tyrone, Isaiah, Bailey and Jade; nieces, nephews; and by many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Pat and Bonnie for their closeness.

Art has been a neighbor of ours for the last 7 years. He will be greatly missed in the area. He and June were, are good neighbors and we enjoy taking care of them
