Thomas Woods, Sr., age 62, of Mora died December 15, 2016 at his home. A Memorial visitation will be held at our Isanti location on Friday, December 23rd from 5 – 8 P.M. with a sharing time at 7 P.M..
Thomas Jeffrey Woods Sr. was born March 3, 1954 in Anoka, Minnesota. On October 15, 2000 Tom met Kathy at the Purple Hawk while singing Karaoke; they married on September 29, 2001. They bought their home in Mora in 2009 and have remained there since. Tom was a man of many trades; he was a police officer for 7 years, a fire fighter along with being on the Bethel Fire and Rescue squad for 15 years, and the Mayor of Bethel for a couple of years. In addition, he had his hands in plowing services and maintenance all before he retired in 2004. He loved his children, adored being a grandpa and treasured his two dogs. Tom had a passion for music, canning, gardening, golfing, coaching youth baseball and eating biscuits and gravy. He loved Halloween and was known for his Halloween display. Tom was an honorable man and will be missed by everyone.
Thomas “Tom” Woods Sr., age 62, of Mora passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2016 at his home.
Tom is survived by his best friend and soulmate, wife, Kathy; three sons, Tom (Celine) Woods Jr. of Rush City, Braun (Rochelle) Woods of Blaine and Shaun Woods (Jill Berry) of Isanti; adopted son, Jason Hough of Oak Grove; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, David Woods of Bloomington; sister, Mary Torell of Grasston; and many nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Verona; brother, Steven; and sister, Joyce.
