Joseph F. Vnuk, age 80, of McGregor died January 12, 2017 with his loving wife by his side at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, January 19th at Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service.
Joseph F. Vnuk was born July 13, 1936 in International Falls, Minnesota to Joseph A. and Clara (Piekarski) Vnuk. He attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School and Patrick Henry High School in North Minneapolis. Joseph served his country as a Marine during the Korean Conflict. While he was in the service, on June 11, 1955, he married Lois Kluck and they lived in Brooklyn Center. They made their home in numerous cities and most recently in McGregor until living with his daughter, Michelle, the last 6 months in Cedar. Joseph was an entrepreneur and was talented in many areas. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and yard work. He was a very social person and loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends. He was loved much and will be dearly missed.
Joseph passed away January 12, 2017 with his loving wife by his side at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park at the age of 80 years and 6 months. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Florence, Clarence, Lavern, Dorothy and Pat.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lois; children, James Vnuk (Jill Koivisto), Lynn Eklund (Jeff Vorbeck), Cathy (Terry) Pierce, and Michelle (Barry) Blesi; sister, Barbara Ehnes; 9 grandchildren, Melissa, Brandon, Alisha, Travis, Andy, Alex, Briana, Corey and Beth; 11 great-grandchildren, Max, Lincoln, Kaylee, Dominic, Brittney, Ben, Aiden, Zaiden, Gracelyn, Isaac and Jordan; and many other relatives and friends.
