Judy Rae Sorenson, age 75, of Isanti died April 19, 2017 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River, three weeks after suffering a stroke. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22nd at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Saturday at the church.
Judy Rae Sorenson was born July 15, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Clifford and Dolores (Gerdin) Pratt. She grew up and attended school in Braham, graduating from Braham High School in 1959. On October 17, 1959 Judy married Norris Sorenson in Braham. They made their home in Braham before moving to Isanti in the early 1960’s. Judy worked several jobs in the Isanti area over the years. Judy served as an election judge in Isanti, was a board member for Gerdin Cemetery, member of Faith Lutheran Church and of the NRA. Judy and Norry enjoyed traveling, especially going to visit their son, Wade, wherever he was stationed. Judy will always be remembered for her caring and compassionate ways. She loved quilting, sewing, stained glass making, gardening and cooking new recipes. Judy lived for her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved babysitting them and doing activities with them. She liked to socialize with her friends and family. Her family and friends were the center of her heart and life. She will be deeply missed by many.
Judy passed away April 19, 2017 at Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River from complications of a stroke at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 4 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis.
Judy is survived by her husband, Norry; five sons, Devery, Wade, Bryce (Beth), Todd (Debbie) and Brent; two sisters, Pam (Paul) Olson, and Karen Erickson; 7 grandchildren, Krista, Becky (Brian), Jamie, Justin, Jaclyn (Tyler), Olivia and Hayden; 5 great-grandchildren, Tayler, Cole, Casey, Vera and Samantha; by nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

I worked with Judy as a lunchroom monitor and playground supervisor at Isanti Elementry years back now. Each time we would see each other always had a smile and remember our challenges on the play ground. She will be missed. Prayers for her family.
