They say; ‘only the good die young.’ Now I believe it. Scotty boy, you were a true talent. Loved every minute we spent together oh so long ago. See you on the other side my friend.
Carvin (Buzz) & Debbie Buzzell says
When we moved to St. Francis on Zion Parkway, Scott came over and lifted me up, swung me around and said, “Welcome to the neighborhood!” He helped us move from our loghome in Walker, MN with our son, CJ and also bought our pool table. He was always extremely kind to us, loved us and was a man who showed the love of Jesus, without reservation! My husband was fortunate enough to be included on fishing trips to Canada with Scott and CJ and again, Scott illuminated “love and kindness” to him, in addition to being very funny.
There are some people who we are graced to know, that God created to show His love, without Bible verses, but in reality, lived out Bible verses. Don’t misunderstand me, Bible verses are the Living Word of God and are powerful and alive and sharper than any two edge sword. But once in a great while, we meet someone who loves, lives, forgives and encourages others to love and forgive and then leaves it in God’s hands. This was Scott!
In Isaiah 57: 1 “devout men are taken away, and no one understands” and in Deuteronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever.” These Bible verses reassure us that we may not understand why God decided to take Scott to heaven, some things God keeps to Himself. But one thing we can be reassured of, that Scott for all who knew him, he impacted our lives with love, kindness, no condemnation and strived for unity in families. We feel blessed that our son, CJ and daughter-in-law, Heather were blessed to know such a wonderful man and friend and our grandchildren to be impacted by his love.
Our prayers go out to Lu and all the family and friends, Scott will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Again, we are so, so sorry! Love you, Carvin and debbie

Scott was not only a man of integrity, but honesty & class were also words used to describe him. Those of us lucky enough to have known him & call him a friend were the real fortunate ones. Prayers & sympathy to his family & friends during this time of loss but please remember that Scott wouldn’t want you to dwell on his death. He would rather have you remember his life!

Goltz family we are deeply saddened by the loss of such a great guy. Scott was a genuine person, he always had a smile on his face. I remember numerous basketball board meeting I would be frustrated and sometimes with him, but he would never leave the meeting without making sure I was okay. He always went out of his way to talk to us and our boys. He has left a lifetime impact on each and every one of us. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

My words can not be put in writing the pain your family is going through. God has chosen another leader to help him with his tasks. His footprint on earth and on our hearts will live forever. My deepest sympathy from my family to yours. The Goltz’s have always been a wonderful support team through out our adventurers as young men. They treated us all like we were one of the family. We all hope and strive to have that same passion that you have shown to all of us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I have fond memories of Scott when he would pick up Tristen from daycare years ago. He was such a nice guy.
Lacey Hanson says
The “Waiter Rule” refers to the common belief that one’s true character can be gleaned from how one treats staff or service workers. I had the honor of being Scott’s assistant, and I cannot begin to tell you in words how wonderful this man was. He treated every single person he met with dignity, respect and kindness. From janitors and secretaries, to executives and mayors, each person was as important as the next in his eyes. He had no notes or special spreadsheets to remember names, he just remembered them. Always. I’ve had other assistants ask me, “What’s it like to work for Scott Goltz?” {insert dreamy look}. It was amazing. We all remember him for his larger-than-life positive personality and the way he just made you feel “special.” He was like that ALL-OF-THE-TIME, 24/7, in front of people and behind closed doors. That’s who he truly was.
Mr. Goltz – Thank you for choosing me. I look forward to seeing you again in Heaven, where you’re reconstructing it and showing God himself how to make it even better (and you will). Don’t you dare let anyone else sit in that little desk next to yours.
Love, Lacey

Oh Scottie-
We will sure miss seeing you and having you around, who else would jump up on our roof and clean out our gutters, or help hang birdhouses, or shovel and plow us out, or just have a quick chat out in the driveway. We’ll miss seeing you up and down the street on your red golf cart. You’re a great guy and wonderful neighbor. We love you Lu, take care of yourself.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Scott’s passing. As luck would have it, Scott was playing ahead of us in early March when the Ponds course opened. We were able to catch up after not seeing him in a few years and it was like we’ve been hanging out regularly. Scott was such an awesome person and he is going to be missed. Prayers to you and your children as well as the rest of the family. He will be missed. RIP Scottie!
