Virginia Canfield, age 94, of Cambridge died April 6, 2017 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, April 10th at our Cambridge location with Pastor Kevin Haseltine officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service on Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Friesland.
Virginia Gloria Canfield was born May 15, 1922 in Warman, Minnesota to Albert and Neva (Ernie) Wehlast. She was raised and attended country school in Warman. Virginia married Alfred Thomsen and they made their home in Rush City. Alfred died on February 26, 1966. In 1969 she married James Canfield and they made their home in the Sandstone area. About four years ago they moved to GracePointe Crossing Gables East. Her husband James died February 7, 2014. Virginia loved gardening, her flowers, her cats, all animals and she just enjoyed the outdoors. She was also an excellent artist and enjoyed painting.
Virginia Canfield passed away April 6, 2017 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 1 day. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Michael Thomsen; and 4 siblings.
Virginia is survived by 3 children, Terry (Deborah) Thomsen of North Branch, Jeannie (Maynard) Folstrom of Isanti, Douglas (Deborah) Thomsen of North Branch; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Earl) Schlegel of Farmington; and by several step-children and step-grandchildren.
