Donald A. Moldenhauer, age 94, of East Bethel died unexpectedly at home May 10, 2017. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM Thursday, May 18th at Strike Funeral Home – CAMBRIDGE Chapel.
Donald Albert Moldenhauer was born September 25, 1922 in Owatonna, Minnesota to Albert and Esther (Hylen) Moldenhauer. He was raised and attended school in Vineland, Minnesota. Donald served his country in the US Navy. After the service he flew for the Civil Air Patrol. On December 15, 1956 he married Delores Kjorness at Herman, Minnesota. They made their home in the Minneapolis and Mounds View areas before moving to East Bethel in 1970. Donald taught the importance of a hard work ethic, being honest and being true to yourself, all by living by example. He loved flying his Piper Cub airplane, cutting wood, organic gardening and sharing his harvest with others. Rest in peace dad, you did it your way.
Donald will be lovingly remembered by his son, David; daughters, Karen (Tom) Moline, and Connie; grandsons, Taylor and Daniel Moline; 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; son, Steven; siblings, Ruth, Louise, Charles and June; and his fur friend, Snoopy.
Janie Hansen says
When I was a young teenager, Diane Fabian and I spent a week with your parents. From Herman, we rode with your dad to Brainerd to his dad’s home as I remember. Don took us to see Paul Bunyan. Then we drove to their home in I think Coon Rapids. David was in a stroller so I think about one year old. They gave us their bedroom and treated us royally.
