David Barnes, age 51, of Stacy, passed away unexpectedly at home Saturday, September 9, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 13th at Country Roads Baptist Church in Stacy with visitation 1 ½ hours prior to the service at church.
David Ross Barnes was born February 20, 1966 in Cambridge, Minnesota to Roland and Eunice (Oskey) Barnes. He has lived in the Stacy area his entire life. On August 13, 1988 David married Rhonda Beckman at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti. David worked as a Building Service Lead at Cambridge Medical Center. He was a dedicated employee and was proud to work there for over 25 years. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was his abundant love for his grandchildren. In addition to being the best grandpa in the world, he liked going to his cabin in Cameron, WI where he cruised on his pontoon and fished. David was a scrap metal enthusiast and he took great joy in watching the Vikings at his dear friend Ron’s house. His other hobbies included a garden where he grew fresh tomatoes and made salsa and deer hunting.
David passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home at the age of 51 years, 6 months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his special friend, Angie Pankan and sister-in-law, Leahann Rasmussen.
David is survived by his wife, Rhonda; daughters, Jessica (Steve) Wald of Andover, Brandy (Jeremy) Johnson of Isanti, Kelly Barnes of Stacy; parents Roland and Eunice Barnes of Stacy; brothers, Dan Barnes of Isanti, Gary Barnes of Stacy, Larry Barnes of Stacy and John (Cindy) Barnes of Barnum; sisters, Rolanda (Steve Hagness) Barnes of Eau Claire, WI and Ronna (Todd) Rudquist of Stacy; grandchildren, Ryan, Emily and Natalie Wald and Harper Johnson; parents-in-law, Terry (Diane) Beckman; sisters-in-law, Lindsey Pearson, Jennifer Demars; brother-in-law, Ross Beckman and many other relatives and friends.
So very sorry to hear about your loss. It was obvious how much David loved Rhonda and that together they loved the life and family they created. He was such a great guy and always kind. I don’t think there are better qualities in a person than to be kind to others and to love your family fiercely.
Dear Rhonda and family, I am so sorry. David was a wonderful friend and I loved seeing him at CMC. He was my go to guy. Work just will not be the same without him. He loved helping everyone. But I have to admit, we were getting put on the back burner as he loved his family, kids and grands so much! Hugs and love you all.
I sure will miss his great smile and our chats! You work with someone for 23 years they become family! He sure did love his wife and girls! Go rest high on the mountain dear friend.
I will miss David’s smile and all around pleasant demeanor. Not to mention his “get it done attitude” at work. Condolences to his friends and family. He will be dearly missed.
I am so sad to hear this. I worked with him for many years at CMC. He was so sweet and I always knew I could go to him for help. He will be in my thoughts and prayers to the family he left behind. He will be missed by so many! RIP my friend.

My most heart felt condolences to Davids family and friends you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. I worked at CMC for 11 years while David was there and he had the most positive attitude and kindest things to say, what a great loss, I will miss seeing him.
David will be and is so very missed at CMC. His presence has always been so positive and rock solid in everything he was involved in. Condolences are just not enough to express how much he impacted our culture and made us all so much better. He loved his family so much and let us all know, my prayers are with you.

David was a wonderful person. His smile, laugh and that twinkle in his eyes will be sorely missed at Cambridge Medical Center. If he was making rounds and I was in my office he would come in, sit down and we would chat. It was evident how much he loved Rhonda, the girls and the grandbabies! His presence was a blessing to us all and he will always be remembered. Thank you David for being part of our family! We will miss you!
My heart breaks for his wife Rhonda, his children, grandchildren, and family and friends!! Also, everyone at CMC!! Tomorrow is gonna be a somber day at the hospital :'( I have never know a more sweeter,thoughtful, kind and giving man ever who loved his family more than anything!! RIP and fly free Stud muffin!!~ Ya know, I was visiting a friend in the hospital last Monday and I wandered around looking for him so I could say hello, cuz it’s been a while, and I couldn’t find him :'( Now I really wish I would have! May God be with u all in the days to come!
I pray for strenght and serenity at this time for Rhonda and the family of David. I have known him for over 35 years. He was an awesome person and cared deeply for others. Im heart broken to hear of his passing. May god bless all he has touched with his smile and compassion. RIP David.

I am so sorry to hear about David’s passing. I worked with him for over 20 years at CMC. He would always smile and greet you when he saw you in the hall, or even when he was busy doing his job. His smile was contagious, you could not help but smile back at him. David will be greatly missed here at work. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family and friends.
