David Lilygren, age 87, of Cambridge died October 8, 2017 at GracePoint Crossing Gables West. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, October 13th at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 28005 Old Town Road, Chisago City. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at the church. Memorials suggested to Guardian Angels Hospice, Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Cambridge Lutheran Church.
David Faust Lilygren was born July 18, 1930 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Erick and Mildred (Faust) Lilygren. He was raised in Chisago City and graduated from Chisago City High School. David served in the Army during the Korean War. After his military service he returned to Chisago City. On June 21, 1975 he married Dorothy Hanson at St. John Lutheran Church in North Branch. They made their home in Harris, then Chisago City and in 2010 they moved to Cambridge. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Chisago City and was a present member of Cambridge Lutheran Church. David was a member of the American Legion for 60 years in Chisago City and then in Centuria, Wisconsin. David was a farmer and enjoyed reading farm magazines and he was a “tractor man” who loved anything John Deere.
David passed away October 8, 2017 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West in Cambridge at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 20 days.
David is survived by loving wife, Dorothy; daughters, Kim (Mark) Morrisette, Jill (Tom) Waldren, Patti (Mark) Stroinski, Janet (Jeff) Halseth; sons, John and Bruce; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; Dorothy’s daughters; Laura (Garry) Wellens, Marcia Brittan, Donna Hanson, Charlotte Norwokowski, Cheryl (Jack) Ryman, Cindy Hanson; and other family and friends.
