Kimberly L. Shults, age 57, of Cambridge passed away December 29, 2017 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 2nd at Calvary Baptist Church, 33525 Jefferson Street NE, Cambridge. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Maplewood.
Kimberly Lynn Shults was born January 12, 1960 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Walter and Mary (Wikre) Smythe. She was raised in St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School. Kimberly became a mother of two loving sons, Matthew and John. For the last 25 years Kimberly and her husband, David, have made their home in Cambridge.
Kimberly was a very kind and giving person. She always put others first. She loved gardening, cooking, and baking. Kimberly had a pioneering personality and enjoyed providing for her family. Her family never went without. Kimberly enjoyed immensely spending time with her grandchildren who she loved dearly. Throughout her illness she always kept her faith, her great sense of humor, and care for others. She will be dearly missed.
Kimberly passed away December 29, 2017 with family by her side after a long battle with medical complications at the age of 57 years, 11 months and 17 days. She was preceded in death by a son, John Burkhardt, and aunt, Nita Toensing.
Kimberly will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David; son, Matthew (Missy) Burkhardt; parents, Wally and Mary Smythe; grandchildren, Jason and Jack; and by many other relatives and friends.

I have known Kim since Junior High. We would dance around in her living room singing the soundtrack to “Jesus Christ Superstar”. :-D She will be dearly missed.
