Kathleen “Kathy” Hoffarth, age 75, of Isanti passed away January 18, 2018 at Cambridge Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, JANUARY 27th at Spirit River Community, United Methodist Church, in Isanti. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery at a later date.
Kathleen “Kathy” Hoffarth was born October 24, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Kermit and Margaret (Mauritz) Winge. She was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1960. On February 10, 1968 Kathy married James Hoffarth in Fridley. They first made their home in Edgewood, later moving to rural Isanti where they raised their family and lived the rest of their lives. Kathy was employed at Reichel’s Meats and Grocery in Isanti for more than 20 years. Kathy enjoyed fishing with Jim, bowling, golfing, playing cards, going to the casino, neighborhood bonfires and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her children, John (Shelley) Nelson, Corrie (Tom) Johnson, Mitch Hoffarth, and Scott (Jennie) Hoffarth; 7 grandchildren, Christen, Tanner, Alex, Sidney, Zak, Emily and Megan; 7 great-grandchildren, and by many other relatives and dear friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James; grandson, Tyler; sister, Gwen Gemlo; and brother-in-law, Butch Gemlo.
So sad to hear, my thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time. I’m glad i got to know Kathy in a short time of her life she reminded me so much of my mom. No more pain and rest in peace.
We will miss you.
