Larry E. Hollan, age 80, of Oak Grove died January 2, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Crown, MN with a visitation 1 hour before the service at the church.
Larry Ellsworth Hollan was born February 19, 1937 in Turtle Lake, North Dakota to Herman and Alta (Huston) Hollan. His family moved to the Minneapolis area and he attended Central High School in Minneapolis. Larry served in the Air Force and was honorably discharged on June 13, 1960. On August 1, 1964 he married Betty Nelson at the Methodist Church in Big Falls, Minnesota. They made their first home in Big Falls and later moved to the Minneapolis area. In 1978 they moved to Oak Grove where they have since made their home. Larry was employed as a Boiler Maker. He had many hobbies and interests, including archery, bow hunting, fishing, golfing, trap shooting, downhill skiing and gardening. Larry especially enjoyed his time at the “coffee shop”.
Larry passed away on January 2, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Hollan and sister, Janice Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Betty of Oak Grove; 4 children, Lea (Wally) Pritchard of Big Falls, Karen (Terrence) Baird of Big Falls, Justin Hollan of Oak Grove, Brian Hollan of Milaca; 6 grandchildren, Ross, Reed, Boyd, Avery, Arica and Peyton; 2 great-grandchildren, Asher and Audrey; 1 sister, Karen; and by many other relatives and friends.
