Susan Miller, age 60, of St. Francis died at her home on January 1, 2018. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Susan Elaine Miller (Morton) was born on May 31, 1957 in Coon Rapids to her parents Stanley Morton and Liann Morton (Voliva). Her family moved to Ramsey, MN in 1965 where she grew up. Sue had a passion for horses. She married her husband Tom Miller 40 years ago on January 1st 1978 in Colorado. Tom and Sue lived in Minnesota, Colorado, and Georgia. They eventually settled in Elk River, MN in a lovely berm home on 5 acres, where family and friends had many fun gatherings. She had her favorite horse “Bridger” that she loved so very much, and her many sweet dogs. She was an avid animal lover. Sue and Tom moved to St. Francis a few years ago. She loved her two dogs Danny and Pal, who recently departed just last year.
Sue loved collecting anything “chicken”. She loved all her chicken collectibles, plants, flowers, wind chimes, and knick knacks. She had an amazing and unique decorating style.
Sue passed away at home with her husband Tom by her side on January 1st 2018, on their 40th wedding anniversary. She was preceded in death by her father Stan Morton, her father-in-law Gilbert Miller, and her mother-in-law Jerryann Miller. Sue is survived by her husband Tom Miller, mother Liann Voliva, sisters Nancy, Linda, Alice (Frog) Ballance, Audrey (Chris) Ayala , and brothers Ed (Marilyn) Morton, John Morton, and Karl (Valerie) Morton. She is also survived by brother-in-law Mike (Jill) Miller, Rick (Roberta) Miller, and sister-in-laws Cindy (Jermanre) Gillins, Tami (Neal) Smith, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Susan was an amazing woman, very happy, sweet, loving, and fun. She will be extremely missed by all (including her kitties, Mika and Lolly). Rest sweetly, Sue. We’ll be watching for you when you come to us as a butterfly, hummingbird, or a dragonfly.
