Grandma was an amazing lady with unending love. She enjoyed both her family and friends. She always enjoyed company or a call. But remember she will also be worried about that bad weather too. My favorite memories of grandma include spending time both random visits and holidays with grandma. Our conversations could venture from how me or the rest of the family was doing (we always went down the list of course 🙂) to the many stories like how she met grandpa as a waitress in Michigan, or how she got the recipe for her chocolate chip cookies from her sister’s friend, or how Charlie carried his stuffed chicken toy through the store. While she had many stories to tell and time to share I am saddened that now I must wait until I see her again. I can only hope that with all the new experiences and beginnings of new stories as she joins grandpa that she finds the time to watch over us with love and figure out what story she wants to tell us next when we meet again. I love you so much grandma and I miss you dearly.

I’ll never forget the good times we had with Dick and Evie. We were always laughing. I will never forget when they bought an old milk truck and we’d tool around isanti in the back, oh the good ole days.

Evie was considered Grandma Evie in our household after her husband Dick passed away 10 years ago. She was the Grandma figure in my life, cuz I did not have any. Evie loved children everywhere. She had to know who they were and where they were from and how old. No matter where we took her she ran into someone she knew. If she didn’t know them she would ask. She loved to play with our children and join us to any occasion she could. We loved to see her light up from the actions of the kids and the smiles she brought to them. Grandma Evie loved to Volunteer and that was one thing that I learned from her and admired. I started volunteering my time anywhere I could because I saw the great reward it gave her, I wanted to do that for others. For years she would volunteer to watch our children so we could volunteer to help at youth group on Wednesday nights, always reporting that the children were Perfect like always, and don’t tell her they misbehave. From the start of our twins Logan and Lucas being 1year old right up to a week before Christmas this last December, Evie sat on the floor and played games with our children and family. This year it was the dice game. We had a special love for her and her for us. She would tell people we keep her busy and going and we sure did. She loved getting out of her apartment, and I could always use a helper with the 3 little ones and some laughter. She showed me how to stop and enjoy what the children were doing and admire their actions and their artwork. To pause and visit. To pause and just listen and love. We loved her so much that some weeks for many years she was with us 3-4 days a week. We will miss her love, laughs, kindness and all of her stories she shared. To the woman we informally adopted called Grandma Evie we love you so much and we are extremely GRATEFUL for the years and the time we had with you! You came into our lives at a perfect time when Eric and I had no grandparents of our own to share our little ones with. Thank you for sharing your life and love with us all!! Although we will shed tears of sadness missing you throughout the weeks, months and years to come, We are so excited that you are reunited with your loving husband and your son once again. We will miss your smile and the love you had for our family!! Hugs and Kisses in Heaven!!

Grandma Evie and I loved to tease each other and I was her little stinker. She loved watching us play baseball. She loved to talk to people especially when we had garage sales at our house.
