Lorraine Helen Carter, age 95, of Vadnais Heights and formerly of Isanti, passed away February 22, 2018 at home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 27th at Long Lake Lutheran Church, 3921 277th Ave NW, Isanti. Interment will be in Long Lake Community Cemetery. A time for visiting will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lorraine Helen Carter was born April 26, 1922 in Minneapolis to Harry and Lillian (Cope) Osborne. She was raised in Minneapolis and California. She started school in San Jose and when she was 10 years old they came back to Minnesota. Lorraine graduated from John Marshall High School, Class of 1940, in Minneapolis. During her working years she was employed as a key punch operator. She volunteered for 16 years after retirement and helped the elderly and low income people with their taxes. She had many interests including, dancing, singing, gardening, traveling and playing cards. She also enjoyed all kinds of crafts, oil painting, knitting, crocheting and quilting table runners.
Lorraine passed at her home in Vadnais Heights on February 22, 2018 at the age of 95 years, 9 months and 27 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy. She is survived by 7 children, David Scharff (Karen Christensen), Robert (Pam) Isom, Barbara (Clarence) Branum, Bette (Marlow, Jr.) Geyer, Delmer Scharff, Cynthia (Norm) Potvin, Judie (Geno) Wilson; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Erickson; brother, Wayne (Gloria) Osborne; and by many other relatives and friends.
