James “Jim” Jacobson, age 59 of Hinckley and formerly of Cambridge, died March 30, 2018 at home. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Thursday, April 5th at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge. A graveside service will be held at King Cemetery at a later date.
James “Jim” Jacobson was born June 4, 1958 in Cambridge, Minnesota to Orvin and Grace (Ekelin) Jacobson. Jim attended school in Cambridge and worked as a personal care attendant for his son, Mike, who is severely handicapped. He had been dealing with health issues and had started kidney dialysis. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved to go fishing and camping, he also enjoyed playing cribbage with anyone he thought could beat him, and he enjoyed playing video games.
Jim died Friday morning, March 30th at his home at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 26 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orvin and Grace Jacobson, an infant son, sister, Nancy Wiemer, and brother-in-law, Dennis Shaffer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his long-term companion, Kay Bartel; sons, Matthew and Michael; daughter, Amy Dahl; four sisters, Susanne (Gary) Johnson of Cambridge, Linda (Don) Bistodeau of Stanchfield, Elaine Shaffer of Isanti, and Mary Nelson of Cambridge; 5 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
