A memorial service for Gina Louise Antinozzi will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 30 at Strike Life Tributes in Cambridge with visitation two hours prior to the service.
Gina was born in Coon Rapids, MN, and attended Saint Francis and Barnum High Schools. As a young girl, she soon exhibited the independence and fearlessness that would define her life. She loved nature, music, especially The Beatles, and adored all of Godβs creatures. Gina felt it was her duty to make the world a better place for pets, any pet. The animal kingdom lost a true champion when she left this world unexpectedly June 19, 2018.
She loved to travel and meet new people. Gina sought out adventure and thrived on it. She jumped out of airplanes and hang-glided off mountaintops, explored caves and derelict buildings, and hopped freight trains for fun. She was unafraid to climb any fence, real or proverbial, because she felt it was her right to know what was on the other side. Gina would pick a destination and go there, making friends along the way. She was generous, almost to a fault. She lived to help others, especially the less fortunate, always sharing whatever she had. Gina was a flower child in a concrete world, bound and determined to live her life on her own terms.
And Gina suffered with depression. She could be incredibly outgoing and become suddenly withdrawn. Gina traversed those emotional peaks and valleys the best she could. Bravely, she battled those demons until she could fight no more.
Gina was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jerry Antinozzi and by her cousin Tisha Sandvig Kirkendall. She is survived by her loving parents Karman (Sandvig) and Nick Antinozzi, her brothers, Justin (Jeanine) and Dominic, sister, Kortni Hohenstein (Wade) and her grandmothers Arliss Crandall and Darlene Antinozzi. Gina is also survived by her beloved dog Pete. She will be missed by her niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and all that knew her.

I met Gina about 13 years ago, so she was just a teenager but I instantly recognized something in her. Kindness, her shy crooked smile reminded me so much of her older brother who I was falling in love with at the time.
We talked about horror-movies, music and as she got older our dislike and outrage for all the injustices in the world.
Justin and I asked/wished for her to come to Duluth for the summer but we knew she would politely decline. I will always see her as a Wild-flower..
When we learned of what had happened, Justin and were listening to music as we do some evenings after our son is safe in bed. I was thinking of Gina and I played a song by Tom Petty, “You don’t know how it Feels”. That song has always been a good one, but now it’s her song.
Your brother and Neaner will miss you but now you can be in peace, little Wild-flower.

Gina will be missed but never forgotten! We had an awesome time together and all those moments will be with me forever! I didn’t really get to know her completely but we did learn a lot about each other in the couple months that I got to spend with that amazing free spirited adrenaline seeking super loving soul she has! I will definitely never forget the time she scared the crap out of me when we were hiking back down the mountain and we came to a pretty steep spot like 20 foot drop and she insisted on going on the path that she already chose and I found a crevasse to scale down next thing I know no Gina! Scared the crap out of me but thankfully a cactus bush kinda caught her, she was ok just hurt her hand and ankle, but that didn’t really phase her well I had to help her the rest of the way down but still goes you show u how strong she was! And not to mention how much of a hard worker she was wow she could work circles around most guys haha! I wish she would’ve came back to Minnesota with me but she didn’t want to. There is so much good things to say about her and I could keep going on but I know that she sees now how much I loved her and still do and she will forever have a place in my heart as well as all her friends and family! I love u all! ππ’ππβ€π
