In loving memory of Leona D. Sellstedt, born of Leonard Tischhauser and Ellen Gladys Wiberg May 27, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN. In her 20’s Leona married Robert J. Johnson and they had 4 children together; Nancy Lee, Robert Jr., Dale Paul, and Rebecca Jane. Leona and Robert Johnson later divorced in 1972.
Four years later on July 4th 1976, Leona married Robert B. Sellstedt. Robert and Leona made a lasting impression on everyone they met. They lived in a cute little house in Fridley, and Leona worked as an optometric assistant for several years.
Together they enjoyed attending high school and college sporting events, watching the news and reading the newspaper, walking the dogs, biking, visiting family and friends, and going out for coffee. Leona also enjoyed sewing, crocheting afghan blankets, supporting local schools and sporting events, and helping people at the church. They later moved to St. Francis and became very familiar faces in the community attending local sporting events and making their daily rounds visiting friends in the community. When Leona’s health needs became too difficult for Bob, she moved into GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge. In 2015, Leona lost her loving husband, Robert B. Sellstedt.
October 2, 2018 Leona D. Sellstedt journeyed home to be with God and her heavenly loved ones. She is survived by her children; Robert Jr., Dale Paul, Rebecca Jane, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
