Linda Marx, age 67, of Isanti slipped peacefully from this world on Monday, October 1, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 7pm on Friday, October 12th at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti with visitation starting at 4pm.
Linda Lee Marx was born on July 16, 1951 in Yuma, Arizona to Clarence and Leora Trushenski. She and her sister Vicky spent much of their early life in California before the family settled in Crystal, Minnesota in 1962. Linda graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper Senior High School where she was active with Job’s Daughters. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from St. Cloud State University with a degree in elementary education and a minor in special education.
Linda always enjoyed working with children, first as a mother; leading Girl Scouts, working on the playground at lunchtime and volunteering for the North Metro Soccer Association. Through her work she became a favorite substitute teacher in the Saint Francis school district. Later in life her career led her to assisting senior citizens with job training, volunteering and employment.
Linda spent her retirement doing the things she loved. She could be found gardening, canning and endlessly playing the soundtrack from “Mamma Mia” in her car. She resided in her current home in Isanti for nearly 20 years and has been surrounded by a very special group of neighbors. She adored her dog, Bailey and cat, Roxy. While chronic illness affected her life she rarely let it interfere with her independent spirit and always had a sassy word for those around her.
Linda will be remembered with love by her son Tony (Rebecca) Marx and daughter Darcy (Randy) Mattson; grandson Mason and granddaughter Eva; mother Leora Trushenski and sister Vicky as well as countless neighbors and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Clarence.
