Sid was born August 26th, 1937. He grew up in Linwood Township. He had many different jobs along the way but his passion was driving semi’s. He loved coloring with his granddaughter and teaching his grandboys quick wit one-liners. His grandchildren meant the world to him. He was also a proud member of al-anon.
Sid is survived by his wife Dorothy Siems-Grundy of Cambridge, his sons Jamie and Lisa Siems of Isanti, Jason and Sarah Siems of Mora; grandchildren, Jansen, Jayden, and Trinity Siems, and Zachary and Teanna Oestreich.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Gracepointe Nursing Home in Cambridge and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care he was given.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Community Church on Saturday January 5th, 2019 at 1:00 pm with visitation starting at 12:00 pm. Special thanks to Strikes Funeral Home for assisting in handling these arrangements.

It was an honor to take care of Sid and get to know him over the years at GracePointe. I think I speak for all the staff that his jokes, his smile and all the laughs will be greatly missed. They will always be remembered as well. As Sid used to always say when moving from one area to another, “The eagle has landed”. I think that’s just what he did one last time❤️ My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

I will have great memories of Sid, both at the farm and since they moved to town. Sid always had humor for you. He had a wonderful collection of his Eagles and John Deere Tractors. Dorothy, Jaimie, Jason and family, you are near and dear to my heart. Sid was, too. May God give you comfort at this time and strength to carry on. {{{hugs}}} to you all! 😢💜💜💜

Sid and Dan and I had a lot of fun traveling to Al-Anon events over the years. I remember one time we were in a restaurant in Brainerd and he said something to me about my attitude and I told him I didn’t have an attitude and I put a piece of ice on my shoulder and told him to “go ahead, knock it off!” Of course, he wouldn’t do any such thing but we sure had fun with that waitress (who was afraid we were going to have a fight!) and Dan! Good memories. I know that you have good memories of Sid as well and that these memories give you comfort over the years.
