Barbara J. Erickson, age 83, of Isanti, died January 10, 2019 at Walker Methodist Levande in Cambridge. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 15th at Long Lake Lutheran Church in rural Isanti with a visitation 1 hour before the service at the church. A visitation will also be held Monday from 5:00 P.M. – 8 P.M. at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti.
Barbara Jean Erickson was born May 27, 1935 in Burns Township, Anoka County, to Robert and Opal (Wright) Wirz. She was raised in Burns Township and graduated from St. Francis High School, Class of 1953. Barbara married Theodore J. Erickson on September 1, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii. They made their home in Hawaii for a year-and-a-half and later made their home in California. They moved to St. Paul where they lived for 5 years and then in 1962 they moved to the farm in rural Isanti. Barbara was an active member of Long Lake Lutheran Church over the years and helped with WELCA and enjoyed the quilting group at church. She crocheted winter caps for children and one year she donated 60 caps. Barbara also was a 4-H leader for several years.
Barbara died January 10, 2019 at Walker Methodist Levande in Cambridge at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 14 days. She is survived by her husband, Ted of Isanti; 2 children, Michael (Lynn) Erickson of Stanchfield, Nancy (Ernest) Sandahl of Oak Grove; 4 granddaughters, Heather (Nate) Blue of Duluth, Sara (Andrew) Stolt of Sartell, Jennifer Sandahl of Bloomington, Indiana, Melissa Sandahl of Fairbault; 4 great-granddaughters, Madelyn, Eleanor, Finley, Amelia; and by many other relatives and friends.
