After fighting pancreatic cancer so bravely for nearly 2 years, Thomas Neal Bloomquist, age 66 of Isanti,MN, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born on November 14, 1952 in Minneapolis, MN to Antoinette (Bray) and Everette Dayton Bloomquist. He was the fifth of six children.
Tom graduated from Edison High School in Minneapolis, MN In 1971. Soon after high school graduation, Tom married Charlotte Brown and they welcomed their first child, Thomas Jr. soon after. Tom and Char would go on to welcome two more boys, James and Richard. During that time, Tom was building his career and supporting his family as commercial mechanic. Tom was an incredibly inventive mechanic and engineer having worked for over three years developing a specialized wet sander that earned him a prestigious US patent. Tom started his body shop work at the age of 16, attending St. Paul Technical Vocational and Anoka Vo-Tech schools where he became skilled in his profession.
Tom spent the majority of his early married life in North Branch, MN where he and Char raised their three boys. Shortly after moving to St. Croix Falls, Wi, in 2002, Tom lost his wife after a long battle with breast cancer.
As fate would have it, Tom met Sharon Williams, who also lost her spouse of 31 years to cancer. The two were married on April 9, 2005 with both families present. As both learned that life holds no promises for tomorrow, the two retired from their careers to his lake home in Wisconsin.
After retirement, Tom and Sharon had the opportunity to travel and spend lots of family time together. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved cruising with his wife, working on his snow mobiles with friends, hunting, fishing, swap meets, cars, and cooking for his family.
Tom spent his life loving his family and Sharon feels so fortunate that she was blessed for 14 years with a man that spent every day making her feel loved.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Charlotte, his brother James and his sister Judy.
He is survived by wife, Sharon, siblings Dayton(Sharon) of Wilmer, MN; Susan of Brooke Park, MN; and Robert (Maria) of Harris, MN; sons, Thomas Jr. of Dickinson, ND; James of Chaska, MN; and Richard of Osceola, WI; Step Daughters Stephanie (Lee) Walz of Stacy, MN; Darci (Michael) Felt of Stacy, MN; Steps Sons, Travis (Brooke) Williams of Clear Lake, MN; and Derek (Melanie) Williams of St. Louis Park, MN; 20 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous friends and relatives.
