Floyd H. Poff, age 93, of North Branch passed away March 26, 2019 at Bickford Assisted Living in North Branch. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 30th at Country Roads Baptist Church, 25346 Apollo St NE, Stacy. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Isanti Union Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Isanti VFW Post 2735.
Floyd was born October 28, 1925 in Prentice, Wisconsin to Henry and Cecilia (Schultz) Poff. He was the fifth child of 12. Floyd went to Country School in Cambridge until he was 17 when he joined the Navy. He was stationed on the USS Carina from 1944 – 1946. On August 28, 1949 he married Lorraine Dahlberg and they had four children, Steve, Kathy, Keven and Sherman. They would have been married 70 years this August.
Floyd worked as a commercial roofer; having put the roof on the IDS Center was a proud accomplishment. Floyd and Lorraine retired and moved to Nisswa in 1986. After 18 years up north they moved back to Isanti and lived in Isanti Community Services Senior Apartment’s for 16 years. They moved to Bickford Assisted Living two years ago.
Floyd died March 26, 2019 at the Bickford Assisted Living in North Branch at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 29 days. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Cecilia Poff; one son, Sherman; 9 siblings, Ruby Prickett, Donald, Kenneth, Marian Sanders, Vern, Virgil, Florence Zellner, Joan Riebe, and Luella Downes.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine; son Steve, daughter, Kathy (Doug) Nelson, son, Keven (Margaret); 6 grandchildren, Julie (Andy) Greeler, Danielle (Ken) Feucht, Edwin Poff, Shannon Poff, Matt (Jessica) Poff and Fallon Poff; 9 great-grandchildren, Katie, Connor, Kieran, Donovan, Megan, Preston, Josh, Brooklyn and Shawna; and by many other relatives and friends.
