Shirley J. Olson, age 87, of Cambridge died March 18, 2019 at Cambridge Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 22nd at Zion Lutheran Church in Crown with a time for visiting 1 hour before the service at the church. Following the memorial service a lunch will be served at the American Legion Post in St. Francis.
Shirley Joan Olson was born in Minneapolis on June 24, 1931 to Edward and Dorothy Graber. She married Oliver Olson on October 14.1950.
Shirley loved being around family. She vacationed with her husband Oliver and their friends for many years. She also was on a bowling league with Oliver. She loved to play cards and tell Oliver he was cheating. She loved to go to the casino. She was dearly loved by all her family. She loved her grandkids, great grandkids and had one great, great grandchild. She was able to spend time with each of them and they all have their own special memories and stories about her.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie Hemmelgarn (Edward) of Cambridge, Wendy Daudt (Loren) of Zimmerman, Alfred Olson (Shalisa) of St Francis, Kathy Olson (Thomas) of St. Paul, 13 grandchildren ,27 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver, parents Edward and Dorothy Graber, brother Kenny Graber, sister Lois Peterman, In Laws, Alfred & Tilda Olson, Carl & Helen Olson, Thora & Wally Headstrom, Clarice & Stanley Burdick, Evelyn Chalupsky. Shirley passed away on March,18, 2019 at the age of 87. She will be greatly missed.
We were so sorry to hear of Aunt Shirley’s passing. She was truly a special lady, so kind and sweet to all of us kids. She was dearly loved by our father and she holds a special place in our hearts.
