Bernice Margaret Demuth was born August 3, 1940 in Belgrade, Minnesota to John and Rose (Wengler) Och. Bernice grew up on a farm in Belgrade and throughout her life she has vividly talked about her wonderful childhood memories on the farm. Later on, she took a job and worked at Tjernlund Products where she was employed for over 30 years. Bernice was an independent and honest person; raising five children on her own while being proud at what she had accomplished in her life. She enjoyed playing the accordion and dancing to Polka and Waltz music. Bernice was known for making lasagna every Easter and pumpkin bars every Thanksgiving. Her role as grandma and great-grandma brought her so much joy. Many friends and family thought of her as their grandma too. She will be deeply missed by them.
Bernice died July 12, 2019 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Rose Och and sisters, Marcy and Rosie.
