Marie M. Brown, age 86, of Osseo and formerly of Rutledge and Moose Lake, died October 19, 2019 at St. Therese of New Hope. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100 93rd Ave N., Brooklyn Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Marie Magdaline Brown was born September 8, 1933 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Edward and Isabelle (Tozer) Thies. She was raised in NE Minneapolis and graduated from Robbinsdale High School. In March of 1963 she married Andrew Brown and they raised their family in Fridley. Marie worked as an inspector at Minco in Fridley for 15 years. After retirement they moved to Sturgeon Lake and then Rutledge. She enjoyed volunteering at church, sewing, cross-stich, crocheting and listening to classical music.
Marie passed away October 19, 2019 at St. Therese of New Hope at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 11 days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; and sister, Marianne Thies.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeannette (Todd) Gavic, and Susan Brown; one sister, Jeanette (Wes) Mir; four grandchildren, Bridgette, Cheryl, Nicole and Jessica; and by other relatives and friends.
My mother was a wonderful person.
She is now in a better place with our Lord and my Dad
